New River Wear Crossing Pylon Arrives - Video Footage

Firstly, the Sunderland Forum is all about local issues. The City of Sunderland obviously includes, Washington, Houghton and Hetton. However, we allow news, views and gossip from all areas surrounding Wearside.

No, the council are dragging their heels.
The Swan Bridge sounds canny - after Joseph Swan.
He was born in Pallion as well - the inventor of the incandescent light bulb.
Given that we have a Stadium of Light and such like maybe it's apt.
What was that you said again?

I was at the Hylton Retail Park yesterday and saw the new Wear Bridge A-frame in all its glory.
Can't wait for it to open, even if it's just to get rid of all these road works.

Once the bridge is up and running, it will be magnificent.
I personally can't wait to use it, and the view at night promises to be breathtaking.

Looking at the new Wear crossing now, it looks like you can actually walk over it but there's still a year before it opens.
I might have the day off today!
